Long ago...

The funniest story I can remember about daddy (and momma) was the Sunday we returned home from church. We all dispersed throughout the house to change our clothes and get ready for lunch when a loud scream sounded down the hallways and throughout the entire house. As children we,of course, all ran lickety split to the scene of the action only to find my father jumping from the couch to the coffe table and back again. Anyone who knows my father knows he is not a man to dance on anything, but there he was. We had know idea what the problem was, but there stood my mother in the doorway of our hall pointing her finger at where my dad was and screaming to high heaven. Once the commotion had settled down and there stood daddy on the couch and momma started laughing because she never told him why she had began to scream she had only just begun screaming and pointing. Daddy thought there was a snake on the floor, when in fact it was just a tiny mouse. I have laughed over this for years and years and is one of my fondest memories of him.
