The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Grover Newman can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Good Memories

As a teenager, I had the pleasure of living with Grover and Nancy in Colorado as their nanny for a Summer taking care of Betty, Janis and baby Grover. It was a great summer! The Newmans also lived next door to us in the Redeemer neighborhood. I was always very thankful that Grover spoke Spanish because of the non English speaking men of the several families that lived on the other side of us would get drunk and shoot the street lights out with guns in the middle of the night. Dad and Grover would always call police and then confront the drunk men.  I was always scared he or my dad would be shot, but God was always looking out for them.

I think of Grover all the time. Did you know he was a jeweler? He made a ring for me for my 16th birthday and I still wear it everyday.

He was such a gentle soul and will be missed.
