The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Grover Newman can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Remembering Grover

I had the opportunity to live in Household with Grover, work with him at the Redeemer and at the 4th Ward Clinic and once in business.  This was years ago.

I remember one night he and I stayed real late at the Redeemer talking,  It was almost midnight when we stepped out the side door of the Gym and onto the street.  On the street a knife fight was just about to start between two young men.  Without hesitation Grover ran betweem then and with two knifes waving in his face he held his hands out toward each of them and said, "I do not belief this is what you two really want to be doing right now,  So let's rethink this!"

The resiult was that they lost their desire to fight and went of in opposite directions.  Grover was one Brave minister of Christ!  We will all miss him.
