Athens - Funeral Services for Evelyn Futch, 92, of Athens will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the Athens Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and will be officiated by Bishop William Bridger. Burial will follow at a later date in Quincy, Illinois.

She passed away peacefully on September 20, 2018 in Tyler.

Evelyn June Schepers Futch was born March 19, 1926 in Quincy, Illinois and was raised by her late aunt and uncle Alberta and Merle Schrader for most of her life. She was an active member of the LDS Church; serving as President of the Relief Society in Illinois and mentoring many young women throughout her life. She loved to play the piano, crochet, sew and spent countless hours raising ornamental flowers, especially roses. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her special aunt and uncle, two husbands, Paul H. Pfanschmidt and Ruford Lawrence Futch, son Mark Pfanschmidt, one brother Albert “Bud” Schepers and her granddaughter Kristin Schroeder.

Evelyn is survived by her loving children, Michael Pfanschmidt of Athens, Janna Gust and husband Bill Johnson of Sun City, Arizona; one great granddaughter Paige Schroeder and one niece Becky Griffith.


Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
