Obituary

Graveside services for Carlton Duncan, 86, of Athens, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2019 at Edom Cemetery with Bro. Daniel Stone officiating.

Mr. Duncan passed away December 18, 2019 in Athens.

Carlton Lemanuel Duncan was born June 11, 1933 in Pocahontas, TN, the son of James C. Duncan and Julia Mae (Mullins) Duncan. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Murchison. Carlton owned and operated numerous businesses over the years but spent most of his career driving trucks.

He is preceded in death by parents, James and Julia Duncan; two brothers and four sisters.

Survivors include children, Susan Torti of Athens, Billy Duncan of Athens and Gerald Duncan of Athens; mother of his children, Norma Duncan; grandchildren, Shan Torti, Chad Torti and wife Emily and Kodi Duncan; great grandchildren, Chase, Dylan, Daniel, Clayton, Tyler, Seth, Damien and Presley; and great grandchildren, Arabella and Eli.

Visitation will be held Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 4-6:00 p.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
