Athens – A memorial service for Doris Maxine Skinner, 87, of Athens, will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Thomison officiating.

Mrs. Skinner passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016.

Doris Maxine Skinner was born on June 5, 1929 in Malakoff, daughter of Zephania Lafayette Wilcox and Julia Mae Lloyd Wilcox. She loved sewing, to cook, and dancing. Doris enjoyed playing games like Dominoes and 42. She adored her grandkids and great grand kids and will be greatly missed by all she knew and loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, R.C. Baker and Roma H. “Buster” Skinner; brothers, Ovie Presley Wilcox and Euless Euley Wilcox; sister Roddy Mason; and nephew Glen Wilcox.

Doris is survived by her children, Dian Martin and husband Tony of Athens; and Judy Lynn Brown and husband J.R. of Trenton; brother Darvin Lamar Wilcox of Brownsboro; grandchildren, Heather Cathey and husband James of Athens, Brad Maxwell and wife Kacie of Leonard, and Jason Rowland of Denton; great grandchildren, Justice Cathey, Loren Cathey, Abbey Maxwell, and Allie Maxwell; nephews, L.D. Wilcox, Dewayne Wilcox, and Kenneth Wilcox; nieces, Tina Wilcox and Mary Lynn Rogers and husband Joel.
