Chuck, the families beloved PawPaw passed away on Saturday evening, August 8, 2015, just 17 days after his 75th birthday.
His life began on July 22, 1940 in Waxahachie, Texas. He was the only son of Charles Edward and Lucille Shultz. On December 19, 1959, he married Jerrilynn Hoover, and over the next 8 years had 5 kids – Chuck, Tod, Rodney, Scott and finally a girl, Lezli. The family was complete. Then, in 1984 the first and second grandkids were born. The gift of grandkids and great grandkids has been steady over the years with the count now at 25 grand and 10 great grandchildren. This is what made PawPaw most proud – a LARGE family.
He is survived by his loving children, Chuck and Connie Shultz, Tod and Robin Shultz, Rodney Shultz, Scott Shultz, Lezli and Mark Hall; 25 Grandkids, Chad and Paige Shultz, Carson Shultz, Carley and Byron Kelley, Jessica and Rob Richard, Jordan Shultz, Jenna Shultz, Donovan and Jessica Shultz, Monty and Sarah Shultz, Tori Shultz, Chloe Shultz, Micah Shultz, Grant and Brianna Shultz, Brent Shultz, Alli and Jace Pursley, Bekah and David Graves, Oliva Hall, Erikah Hall and 10 Great Grandkids, Case and Luke Shultz, Austin and Kyle Richard, Asher Shultz, Cooper, and Carter, Ryann and Turk Shultz and Jonah Graves

The family would like to give special thanks to Summer Matthews and daughter Armileigh for the love and care they have given Chuck over the last two years.

His mother, Annie Lucille Marchbanks, was a school teacher and he’d tell stories of going to school with her at an early age, and starting the 1st grade at the age of 4. After graduating high school at a young age he went on to attend Texas A&M and East Texas State University in Commerce. He loved to attend reunions and communicate with his brothers from Tejas – Sigma Phi Epsilon – Hosses & Bosses.
Chuck lost his mother at an early age in a tragic auto accident. However, he had many aunts and uncles that shaped him throughout his life. Even now, He talked on the phone to one of his uncles almost every day.
Chuck told many stories about the challenges he and his late father, Charles Edward Shultz, Sr., had while they raised cattle on land they had in the Chambers Creek bottom. He used these skills in his early years as a ranch foreman when first moving to East Texas.
Chuck loved a challenge. There was no project too big for him to tackle. His passion was relocating houses – and none were too large to move. In fact, the larger they were the more he wanted to do them. All of his kids and many of his grandkids have worked with him through the years.
Chuck, the families beloved PawPaw passed away on Saturday evening, August 8, 2015, just 17 days after his 75th birthday. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Jerrilynn Hoover Shultz. He and his stories will be missed. But the family finds peace knowing that he has now been reunited and is dancing with Mawmaw in heaven.
