Graveside services for James C. Boyd, 90 of Chandler, are scheduled for 3:30 P.M., June 26, 2015 at Rome Cemetery with Rev. Vince Smith officiating.

James passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in Tyler, Texas.

James Curtis Boyd was born July 16, 1924 in Athens the son of Elbert Curtis Boyd and Willie Riddlesperger Boyd. He was a Navy veteran who was honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class in 1946. He married the love of his life, Castione Pauline Keeling on March 7, 1943. He then began his career as a pumper before retiring from BP after 36 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Elton and Jerry Boyd.

James is survived by his loving wife of 72 years Castione Boyd of Chandler; two children, Patsy Ann Laub and husband John of Edmond, Oklahoma, Jimmie Wayne Boyd and wife Debby J. of Chandler; five grandchildren, Kimberly and Vince Smith, Greg Laub and Brenda Tracy, Jimmie and Holley Boyd Jr., Lisa Porter, Jamie Herring; eleven great grandchildren and two nephews, Donald and Stacie Boyd, Kenneth and Becky Boyd.

Visitation will be held from 2-3:00 P.M. Friday, June 26, 2015 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
