Obituary for Troy Allen Bobbitt

Memorial services for Troy Bobbitt, 48, of Athens, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Malakoff with Pastor Jody Jones officiating and eulogies by Grayson Boucher and Meredith Wilson.

Troy passed away November 19, 2019 in Fort Worth.

Troy Allen Bobbitt was born May 29, 1971 in Springhill, Louisiana, the son of William Edward Bobbitt and Katherine (Malone) Webb. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Malakoff and was owner and operator of T.S. Performance Marine in Athens. Troy loved to be on the water and specifically enjoyed drag boat racing, barefoot water skiing and fishing.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers, William Edward Bobbitt and Vernon Coile; paternal grandmother, Maggie Bobbitt; maternal grandparents, N.B. and Mary Sue Malone and uncles, Ronald Bobbitt and Herman Lee.

Survivors include wife, Sharon Bobbitt of Athens; father, William Bobbitt and wife Dorothy of Springhill, LA; mother, Katherine Webb and husband David of Henderson; paternal grandmother, Josephine Coile of Springhill, LA; children, Tyler Bobbitt of Shreveport, LA, Cade Bobbitt of Springhill, LA, Maggie Bobbitt of Athens and Andrew Eubanks and fiancée Jesse Selman of Haughton, LA; parents-in-law, Ronald and Margaret Uran of Groveland, FL; siblings, James Bobbitt and wife Melanie of Shreveport, LA, Leslie Wilson and husband Jay of Taylor, AR and Meredith Wilson and husband Francesco Queirolo “FQ” of Vienna, Austria; brother-in-law, Wayne Uran and wife Amy of DeRidder, LA; grandchildren, Keelih, Keith and Kobain Bobbitt of Springhill, LA; uncles, Dan Michael and wife Stacy of Nashville, TN, William “Billy” Bobbitt and wife Kristy of Little Rock, AR and Jimmy Bobbitt and wife Laila of Grand Prairie; aunts, Sue Bobbitt of Shongaloo, LA, Marsha Pearson of Henderson and Bennishia “Benny” Lee of Shreveport, LA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and his favorite child, Harley Belle.

A memorial visitation will be held Friday, November 22, 2019 from 12-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the First Baptist Church of Malakoff.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the First Baptist Church of Malakoff, P.O. Box 408, Malakoff, TX 75148.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Baylor Scott and White CVICU team, Bro. Jody and Monica Jones, The Bubba Matthews family, Tim Gray, Tenna Godwin and Leigh Anne Baker.
