Services for Tommy Jackson, 86, of Athens, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 13, 2021 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens with Bro. Jeff Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery near Bradford.
Mr. Jackson passed away September 9, 2021 in Athens.
Tommy Lee Jackson was born February 24, 1935 the son of William Tommy Jackson and Ruby Irene (Hopkins) Jackson. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and was honorably discharged from duty in 1956. He spent his life as a mechanic, whether it was his 20 plus years with UPS or working on cars for pure enjoyment. He loved woodworking and tinkering at home. PaPa was a member of One Hope Church in Athens where his son is pastor and loved his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Nelda Jackson and one brother William Venera Jackson.
Survivors include his loving children, Jeff Jackson and wife Carla of Athens, Kim Scarborough and husband Chuck of Athens; two brothers, A.C. “Sparky” Jackson and wife Joyce of Fairfield, Denzil Jackson and wife Carolyn of Weatherford; eight grandchildren, Jessica Herring and husband Braden, Cade Jackson and wife Lisa, Ethan Jackson, Caryn Oglevie
and husband Grant, Brandon Emerine, Leia Keele and husband Hagen, Crissie Dow and husband Mike, Alan Scarborough and wife Hannah; thirteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
