Obituary for Russell Boswell Jr.
Funeral services for Russell Boswell Jr., 66, of Malakoff, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Leon Wallace and Pastor Darren Miller officiating.
Mr. Boswell passed away September 19, 2021 in Tyler.
Russell Boswell Jr. was born November 12, 1954 in Nacogdoches, Texas the son of Russell Boswell Sr. and Pimble (Smith) Boswell. He was a member of Faith Church of Athens and a longtime member of the Masons. He loved to cook and spend time raising his horses. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf. Russell was a true family man who loved his wife, his family and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son Justin Boswell; grandson Ruston Boswell and three sisters, Arthanne “Shorty” Baker, Diddy Boswell and Mabel Boswell.
Survivors include his loving wife Barbara Boswell of Malakoff; one son Aaron Boswell of Athens; siblings, Florence Lee of Eustace, Linda Butler of Tyler, Aimmie Boswell of Malakoff, Helen Wilcox of Athens, Sammy Boswell Athens, Lucille Boswell of Athens, Robert Raines of Athens, Shelley Goodrich of Athens; five grandchildren, Kitty McCool, Molly Boswell, Noah Boswell, Cain Boswell, Creek Boswell; one great granddaughter Aspe Riley McCool; numerous brothers and sisters in law, nephews, nieces and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
