Obituary for Neal Kirkpatrick
A celebration of the life of Neal Kirkpatrick, 64, of Athens, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens with Rev. Jeffrey Kirkpatrick officiating.
Mr. Kirkpatrick passed away on February 25, 2022, in Athens.
Robert Neal Kirkpatrick was born February 4, 1958, in Dallas, the son of Thomas Neal Kirkpatrick and Patricia Carol (Gregg) Kirkpatrick. He graduated from North Mesquite High School in 1976 and obtained an associate degree from El Centro College in Dallas. For 30 years he owned and operated Mega Fences, Inc., working in both the DFW metro area as well as in Baton Rouge, LA. Neal was a proud lifetime member of the NRA and enjoyed shooting sports, riding motorcycles, working on his property, and watching John Wayne westerns. In recent years, he could be found working cattle on his ranch, Rockin’ K Ranch. Neal will be remembered as an honest man, who never met a stranger and loved spending time with his family, especially with those that called him “PaPa”.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Survivors include wife, Alecia Kirkpatrick of Athens; father, Thomas Kirkpatrick of Palmer; children, Jeffrey Kirkpatrick and wife Krysta of San Antonio, Erin Kirkpatrick of Ft. Worth, Joseph Kirkpatrick of Athens; step-children, Christine Williams and husband James of Forney, Samantha Williams and husband Stephen of Flint, Kimberly Essler of Athens; siblings, Gregg Kirkpatrick and wife Cindy of Palmer, Cheryl Williams and husband Mark of Johnstown, Colorado; grandchildren, Kendall Kirkpatrick, Fallon Daniel, Lexx Williams, Shaddix Williams, Selene Williams, Tucker Essler, Ellie Essler, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and a host of friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
