Obituary for Rick Foster

Graveside services for Rick Foster, 67, of Athens, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Chaplain Randall Ator officiating. Interment will be under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Foster passed away November 1, 2020 in Athens surrounded by his loving family.

Richard Joseph Foster, Jr. was born February 24, 1953 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the son of Richard Joseph Foster and Peggy (Downing) Foster. He proudly served in the United States Army and loved his country. Shortly after his honorable discharge he received his Bachelors of Science degree. Rick was the Vice President of Operations at Argon in Athens for over 15 years then moved to Conroe to start Computer Pro Inc. for 10 years before retiring and moving back to Athens. He spent hours on end fixing and playing with computers even after his retirement and also enjoyed online shopping. Rick was a loving husband and family man who will be missed by all that knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Anna Foster; mother-in-law, Carolyn Craig and brother, Jamie Bula.

Survivors include wife, Sherry Foster of Athens; children, Joey Foster and wife Brooke of Waynesboro, Tennessee, Josh Foster of Nashville, Tennessee, Marissa Hopper and husband Ryan of Athens; siblings, Tony Bula and wife Judy of Memphis, Tennessee, Nancy Bula of Memphis, Tennessee, Melanie Parsons and husband Cabbot of New York, Marla Neely of Conroe, Micki Patras of Conroe; grandson, Jace Foster; father-in-law, Kenneth Craig; brother-in-law, Kenny Craig; sisters-in-law, Lisa Craig, Jennifer Godwin and husband Dusty; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved furry children, Buzz, Bella, Bob, Felix and Cheddar Foster.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kenny Craig, Dusty Godwin, Gary Corley, Cecil Snider, Josh Baker and Harvey Walker.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made in his honor to the Henderson County Humane Society.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
