A visitation for Rena Laney, 52, of Athens will be held from 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Athens.
Rena passed away on June 24, 2022, in Kerens, Texas.
Rena Gaye Laney was born June 25, 1969, in Palestine, Texas the daughter of Veda Sharon (Moore) Holcomb and Kenneth Allen Holcomb Jr. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan whose all-time favorite player was Bill Bates. She loved music, karaoke, dancing and watching her favorite show Gun Smoke on TV. She was a loving daughter, sister, niece and cousin who took great joy in making others laugh and laughing herself.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Sereta and V.E. “Shug” Moore and niece Morgan Carter.
She is survived by her sister Natalie Horton and husband Robert of Athens; nieces and nephews, Ty Carter, Mady Horton, Lucas Horton, Lee Horton; aunts and uncles, Kandas Babb and husband Larry, Kim Feagins and husband Perry, Joe Holcomb and wife Beth and numerous cousins.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
