Athens – A Funeral Mass for Petra Cabrera of Athens is scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Athens with Father Nolan Lowry officiating. Interment will follow at Athens Cemetery.

Petra passed away on November 20, 2018 in Athens, Texas.

Petra Cabrera was born June 29, 1933 in Tlalcosahua, Jalisco, México, the daughter of Jose Cabrera and Maria Castillo. She was a member of the St. Edwards Catholic Church. She was always a hard worker, loved to dance and enjoyed life. She cherished her family and will be greatly missed by all she knew and loved.

She is survived by eight children, Maria Elena Flores Cabrera of Athens, Tiadoro Flores Cabrera and wife Eloisa of Athens, Maria Luisa Flores Cabrera and husband Herman Correa of Athens, Pedro Flores Cabrera of Athens, Catalina Flores Cabrera of Compton, California, Nicolasa Flores Cabrera and husband Ladislado Rondan of Gainesville, Georgia, Guztavo Flores Cabrera and wife Imelda of Jonesbro, Arkansas, Joel Flores and husband Alan Keith of Dallas; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6-7:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm on Friday, November 23, 2018 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.

Serving as pallbearers are: Herman Correa, Elian Cordero, Tiadoro Flores Cabrera, Daniel Delarosa, Roberto Guerro, Gustavo Flores Cabrera
