Obituary for Patsy Gale Warren

Patsy Warren was born on May 10, 1944, to Pug and Lucile in Kerens, Texas. Patsy, better known as Mama, Aunt Pat, (or her favorite) Granna, passed away in Kansas City, Missouri on March 2, 2023, at the age of 78 years old. After she passed, the nurse described her to Brendon as piss and vinegar. And boy, was that nurse right! As Shane (Haley’s husband) said it best, “there isn’t a soul on this earth that didn’t know how she truly felt about them because she spoke what she thought with zero filters.”

We all knew we were loved by her, but those two great grandbabies, Mason and Maggie, came first. She loved playing Bingo. Whatever was going on, you could guarantee she would leave early so she could get her seat. She didn’t meet a casino she didn’t like. She enjoyed going on vacation, but you could bet she would show up with 10 suitcases for a 7-day cruise. While at home, she enjoyed reading and re-watching tennis matches played by Rafael Nadal all day long.

If you knew her, you knew she had a jug full of Dr. Pepper and Virginia Slims in hand. She even had candies, gums, and crackers as snacks hanging out at the bottom of her purse. Now, those things may have had tobacco stuck to them. If you took her anywhere, you had to stop to get a drink and something to eat. Sometimes the drinks didn't have enough sugar in them, which meant adding more sugar to an already sweet drink. If she had Mexican food outside of Texas, she would always ask the waiter if they had chili knowing the answer would be no and still get upset. She did love coming back to Texas because she knew she could get a cheeseburger made by Pat at the Dairy Queen in Trinidad, and don’t forget the steak finger basket!

We are all going to miss her and her quirky ways. Lori sure is going to miss her shopping and restaurant partner. And sorry Dr. Pepper, your sales are about to go way down!

Arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
