Obituary for Patricia Murtha Sartor
A Catholic Mass and Memorial Service for Patricia Sartor, 79, of Athens will be held at a later date.
Ms. Sartor passed away on October 13, 2020 in Athens.
Patricia Murtha Sartor was born February 19, 1941 in Mobile, Alabama the daughter of Joseph Jerome Murtha and Aurelia Katherine (Trainer) Sartor. She was a very active member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Athens serving as a Eucharistic Minister, a lector, sang in the choir and spent many hours working with the Ladies Guild. She also proudly volunteered at the Athens Food Bank giving her time to those in need. Pat spent her career working as an ophthalmic technician in Athens at Neptune Eye Care and then Heaton Eye Care. Pat Pat cherished her family especially her grandchildren and will be missed by all she knew.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Joseph Sartor Jr.; her parents and one brother Peter Murtha.
Pat is survived by her three loving children, Christopher Sartor and wife Cathy of Sharon, Vermont, Jenn Kay of The Woodlands, Texas, Sarah Sartor Tinsley and husband Chris of Athens; two sisters Jeremy Barry, Kathy Zurkhuhlen; seven grandchildren, Jessica Sartor, Caitlin Sartor, Tate Kay, Abbi Kay, Amelia Tinsley, Liam Tinsley, Sean Tinsley and numerous great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to the Athens Food Bank.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
