Obituary for Nettie Faye Dora (Whitehead)
Nettie Faye Dora went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 27, 2020 in Athens.
She was born May 5, 1941 in Brownsboro, Texas to Eddie Whitehead and Nettie Hambrick Whitehead. She was a homemaker and took great joy in cooking and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed fishing and riding around sightseeing. Granny Faye loved joking around, making others smile and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband John Dora Jr.; daughter Joyce Dora Hill; four brothers; three sisters and one grandson Mario Faunta Davis.
Survivors include seven sons, John Wesley Dora of Hutto, Ricky Dora (Elree) of Athens, Bobby Dora of Athens, Carl Dora (LaTinya) of Ft. Worth, Patrick Dora (Tasi), Jeff Mason of Dallas, James Mason of Dallas; two daughters, Teresa Davis and husband Mario of Athens and Linda Whitehead of Dallas; one brother Rev. Bobby Ray Whitehead and wife Christine of Corsicana; two sisters-in-law, Josephine Williams of Athens and Jerlene Stevenson of Athens and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rodrick Dora, Karl Dora, Darion Whitten, Karrdarion Dora, D’Untae McGruder, Ca’Mel Lewis and Dmarcus Davis.
