Mike was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, he had a deep faith, and a spiritual relationship with God while on his beautiful ranch that God entrusted to his care. The Brahman cattle he was so fortunate to raise and care for made his life complete with his family by his side. He had a pilot’s license and real estate license but they both paled in comparison to the love of his Brahman cattle. He was a fourth generation Brahman breeder who grew up on horseback working cattle his entire life, a passion he continued until his last day. His late grandfather, Henry O. Partin instilled a passion to always strive to raise the best Brahman cattle possible and Mike did that tirelessly producing some of the best genetics in the breed.

During his life he served as Director of FIATC, President of the Florida Brahman Association, President/Director of Osceola County Cattleman’s Association, Silver Spurs Rodeo Big Boss, and Outstanding Young Farmer of America.

He was elected President of the American Brahman Breeders Association from 1995-1997, an honor and a position he felt he could make a difference and really promote Brahman cattle. During his presidency he traveled to Australia, Honduras, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Venezuela, Thailand, Philippines and the Dominican Republic, judging cattle and making many Brahman friends. He judged cattle shows in Texas, Florida, Georgia, and Louisiana and always enjoyed teaching and sharing his knowledge about the breed. He was inducted into the American Brahman Breeders Association Hall of Fame in 2017.

Mike was a lifetime member of the American Quarter Horse Association and had bred and raised race horses for many years – a love he shared with his father “Geech Partin”. Mike enjoyed spending time with his children and grand children and when he wasn’t tending to a cow, he was an avid NASCAR and football fan.

Mike will so be missed by his loving family and many dear friends but he is in a better place now checking on his beloved Brahman cattle and Quarter Horses. The Partin & Partin Heart Bar Ranch legacy Mike built, will be carried on by his loving family to honor him.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
