Obituary for Mike Crist
Funeral services for Mike Crist, 66, of Athens, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 7, 2021 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Chris Kenner officiating. Interment will follow at Becks Chapel Cemetery under direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Crist passed away June 4, 2021 in Athens.
Michael Lee Crist was born November 11, 1954 in Athens, the son of Lawrence Lee Crist and Myra JoAnn (Pinkerton) Crist. He retired as a plant operator from Big Brown after 36 years and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed deer hunting, golfing and yard work. Mike will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Stephen Crist.
Survivors include wife, Joyce Crist of Athens; children, Sherry Gollrad of Mabank, Michael Crist, Jr. of Mabank, Amy Stelter and husband Jeff of Arlington, Linda Stanfield and husband David of Tyler; sister, Susan Harper of North Dakota; grandchildren, Johnnie Gollrad, Dallas Gollrad, Wyatt Gollrad, Joshua Crist, Mary Lorene Gould, Morgan Gould, Katelin Stelter, Kelsea Stelter, Will Stelter, Rylee Stelter, Kacy Lunceford, Katy Lunceford and Tyler Stanfield.
A visitation will be held Monday, June 7, 2021 from 10-11:00 a.m. at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to a local charity of choice.
