Obituary for Matthew Waylon Herriage
Funeral services for Matthew Herriage, 20, of Athens, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Erick Graham officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Mr. Herriage passed away September 27, 2021 in Anderson County.
Matthew Waylon Herriage was born July 24, 2001 in Athens, the son of Jarrod Herriage and Shana Tredway. He took pride in blue-collar living as Matt currently worked for Baikowski Malakoff Inc., a chemical manufacturer in Malakoff, and prior to that, welded and built steel buildings. Matt loved hanging out with friends and being in the outdoors, especially fishing and attending 4WD truck rallies. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Jerry “Papa” Herriage; maternal grandmother, Teresa Hill; sisters, Caitlyn Herriage, Cara Herriage and step-grandfather, Charles “Butch” Tidmore.
Survivors include father, Jarrod Herriage and Carly of Athens; mother, Shana Tredway of Whitney; siblings, Haley Herriage of Athens, Kimberly Herriage of Athens, Jacob Black of Whitney, Colton Herriage of Athens; paternal grandmother, Carolyn Tidmore of Athens; aunts and uncles, Danny and Cynthia Smith of Athens, Shannon and Russell Cammarn of Athens, April Turlington of Athens, Sasha Huereca of Dallas, Randy Tredway of Athens; girlfriend, Sunni Haire of Brownsboro and his beloved dogs, Red and Jose.
Serving as pallbearers will be Collin Smith, Nathan Cammarn, Raymond Rios, Cooper Couch, Casey Couch, Jacob Black, Danny Robinson and Tyler Turlington.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Kale Warren, Jayden Day, Austin Clopton, Dylan Torti, Kade Stutts and Daniel Rivero.
A visitation will be held Monday, October 4, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
