Obituary for Mary Ella Surratt
Funeral services for Mary Surratt, 70, of Grand Prairie, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 19, 2021 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens with Bro. Bob Logan officiating. Interment will follow at Rounsavall Cemetery under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Surratt passed away March 12, 2021 in Mansfield.
Mary Ella (Rounsavall) Surratt was born January 23, 1951 in Athens, the daughter of Robert Jack Rounsavall and Velma Gladys (Lawson) Rounsavall. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Richard Surratt, on June 26, 1971. Mary retired from Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company after more than 20 years. She loved watching Disney movies, cooking for holidays and family gatherings and going to any event her grandchildren were participating in. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Surratt; brother, Bobby Rounsavall; and sisters, Annelle Denison, Sue Henry and Barbara Green.
Survivors include children, Staci Lednicky and husband Tim of Mansfield and Traci Turner of Grand Prairie; brother, Johnny Rounsavall of Lindale; and grandchildren, Joseph Richard Lednicky, Jerrick Rashad Turner, Jeremy Ryan Lednicky, Jaci Emily Turner and Jaxon Jermillion Turner.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tracy Rounsavall, Kevin Houston, James Duran, Joe Goen, Joseph Lednicky, Jeremy Lednicky, Jerrick Turner and Jaxon Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Rounsavall, Mike Green, Les Nichols, Tudy Guzman, Chad Rounsavall, Yancy Rounsavall, Brandon Powell and Kris Kerns.
A visitation will be held Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rounsavall Cemetery Association, C/O Staci Lednicky, 4002 Greenwood Way, Mansfield, TX 76063.
