Como portaféretros estarán Gerardo Camacho, Julio Camacho, Roberto Camacho, Raúl Almaraz, Raymundo Vázquez, Orlando Vázquez, Javier Vázquez y Julio Agripino.
Se realizará una visitación de 5 a 7:00 p.m. con un Rosario a las 7:00 p.m. el lunes 10 de abril de 2023 en la funeraria Hannigan Smith.

A Funeral Mass for Mario Camacho, 49, of Athens, is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at St. Edward’s Education and Ministry Center, with Father Nolan Lowry officiating. Interment will follow at Athens Cemetery under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Mario passed away on April 4, 2023, in Athens.
Mario Camacho was born on May 1, 1973, in San Andres Tuxtla, Veracruz, Mexico, the son of Mario Camacho Lara and Maria Del Carmen Polito. He was a member of the St. Edward’s Catholic Church of Athens and was a hard worker, working various jobs over his lifetime, including being a cook at Bean and Burger in Athens. Mario enjoyed watching football, especially the San Francisco 49ers, cooking, and spending time with his family. He was funny, headstrong, and loved helping people. Mario was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all those that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his mother; his godmother, Carmela Camacho de Varela; and his son-in-law, Juan Juarez III.
Mario is survived by his loving wife, Velia Gonzalez Camacho of Athens; his father, Mario Camacho Lara of Mexico; his children, Gerardo Camacho and wife Yadira of Athens, Julio Cesar Camacho and wife Yessenia of Athens, Berenice Almaraz and husband Raul of Athens, and Jennifer Camacho of Athens; his siblings, Maria De Jesus Camacho of Mexico, Roberto Camacho and wife Tania Alba of Athens, Margarita Camacho and husband Raymundo Vazquez of Athens; his grandchildren, Jade Delacruz, Brianna Delacruz, Julieanna Camacho, Nathan Velazquez, Katelyn Velazquez, Carlos Velazquez, Sinahi Camacho, Valentina Camacho, Damian Almaraz, Heidi Almaraz, Juan Juarez IV, Sebastian Juarez, Catalina Juarez, and Marytza Juarez; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gerardo Camacho, Julio Camacho, Roberto Camacho, Raul Almaraz, Raymundo Vazquez, Orlando Vazquez, Javier Vazquez and Julio Agripino.
A visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023, at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home Family.
