Obituary for Marilyn Joy Dickson

A Celebration of the Life of Marilyn Dickson is scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Thursday, January 30, 2020 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens with Pastor David Jordan officiating.

Marilyn Joy Dickson was born May 18, 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Salvatore J. Alessi and Dorothy Winkler French. She retired from the FAA where she worked in security. Marilyn was an avid reader who enjoyed art and loved fishing with her husband. She was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Davis and stepdad, Robert French.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Larry Dickson of Murchison; mother, Dorothy French of Shiner; twin sister, Carolyn Jo Strong and husband James of Yoakum; niece, Laura Wauson and husband Derek of San Antonio; two nephews, Kevin Davis and wife Lisa of Stephenville, Ronnie Davis and wife Shari of Richland Hills and longtime sisters in Christ, Velta Savage and Jan Eudy of Fort Worth.
