Obituary for Marian P. Elledge (Ahner)
Funeral services for Marian Elledge, 96, of Athens, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 28, 2020 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Danny Elledge officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Mrs. Elledge passed away December 23, 2020 in Tyler.
Marian Paula (Ahner) Elledge was born February 2, 1924 in Upham, North Dakota, the daughter of William Ahner and Paula H. (Pfau) Ahner. During WWII, she proudly worked for Boeing as a ‘Rosie the Riveter’. She loved being outdoors, working with animals and gardening- with a special love for roses. Marian was independent and inventive in nature and always enjoyed reading and learning. To her family, she will be known as a mother first and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Travis Willard Elledge; two brothers; three sisters and brother-in-law Timmy Massey.
Survivors include children, Daniel Elledge of Athens, Paula Massey of Henderson, Nevada, Travis Elledge and wife Tina of Athens, Donald Elledge of Burleson; grandchildren, Landon Elledge, Rachel Maza, Shannah Elledge, Chris Massey and wife Stacey, Ashley Hoffmeyer and husband Jason, Alicia Massey, Kennedy Alexandra Elledge and numerous great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
