Obituary for Louise Fisher (Flynn)

Funeral Services for Louise Fisher of Athens are scheduled for 11 a.m., Friday, February 8, 2019 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with W.T. Nowell officiating.

Louise Fisher age 86 went with Jesus on February 6, 2019 at home with her family beside her. She was born November 3, 1932 in Cord, Arkansas to William and Mirl Flynn.

Louise graduated from Angleton High School in Angleton, Texas. She moved to Athens in late 1950’s. She worked at Curtis Mathis and years at the Athens Review. While juggling her work she was a devoted Christian teaching Sunday school. She loved to crochet, embroidery and sew. Quilts were her passion and she made each one with love. Her family always came first, and Sunday gatherings always left you full with her home cooked meals. She also loved to travel and visited 39 states, Canada and Mexico.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents, step mother Lola Flynn, sister Ermma Cox, brothers, Ray Flynn and William Flynn.

Survivors include her husband of 68 years Earnest Fisher, daughter and son-in-law Tina and Bobby Ward of Mabank, son Clyde Fisher of Missouri, multiple step sisters and brothers. She was most proud of her grandchildren Chris Martin, Stacey Martin, Justin Ward and Jarrod Ward. Eight great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home from 6-8:00 p.m..
