Obituary for Larry Eugene Wilson
Services for Larry Wilson, 74, of Athens, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 17, 2022, at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Bristow officiating. Interment will follow at Athens Cemetery.
Larry Passed away on March 12, 2022, in Tyler, Texas.
Larry Eugene was born March 20, 1947, in Corsicana, Texas the son of Jonas Murphy Wilson and Rhoda Victoria (White) Wilson. He was a Baptist and a patriot who served in the US Air Force during Vietnam. After serving his country he began his career with the US Postal service and worked for over 26 years before retiring to enjoy gardening, collecting stamps, baseball cards and die cast cars. Larry loved his family and will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his five brothers, Bill, Leon, James, Jimmy and Roger Wilson and two sisters, Ruth Judge and Sara Pritchett.
Survivors include loving wife Carlotta (Glaspy) Wilson of Athens; sons, Matthew Wilson of Tyler, Bryan Wilson and wife Dana of Wills Point; stepson Robert Lee Frisbie of Athens; sisters, Kathy Bennett of Tyler, Linda Hughes of Dallas; grandchildren, Taylon Wilson, Trenton Wilson, Shelby Honea and one great grandchild Oliver Grant Honea.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2022, from 6-8:00 p.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Justin Frisbie, Brandon Snider, Taylon Wilson and Trenton Wilson.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
