Obituary for Herminia Orozco (Lopez)

A Celebration of the Life of Herminia Orozco, 66, of Athens is scheduled for 4:00 P.M., Sunday, October 11, 2020 at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Skiles officiating.

Minnie passed away on October 7, 2020 in Tyler.

Herminia Lopez Orozco was born December 24, 1953 in San Benito, Texas, the daughter of Ramon Barrientos Lopez and Augustina Cervantes Lopez. She worked at Argon for over 15 years in medical assembly and during her free time enjoyed planting flowers, sewing and attending garage sales. Minnie loved being in the kitchen cooking and baking for those she loved and was a dedicated fan of the Dallas Cowboys. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and she will be missed by all those she knew and loved.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Augustina Cervantes Marquez; father, Ramon Barrientos Lopez; husband, Natividad Orozco; daughter, Christina Gonzalez and siblings, Maria Martinez, Juan “Johnny” Lopez and Susie Scott.

Minnie is survived by children, Sandra Orozco of Duncanville, Jason Orozco of Black River Falls, Wisconsin, Jennifer Orozco of Black River Falls, Wisconsin; six siblings, Manuel Lopez of Houston, Ramiro Lopez and wife Olivia of Houston, David Marquez and wife Tammy of Athens, Rosie Skiles and husband Jimmy of Gatesville, Manuel Marquez Jr. and wife Angie of Athens, Jannette Marquez of Athens; eight grandchildren, Cameron Houston, Nathan Orozco, Enrique Gonzales Jr., Alicia Orozco, Roberto Rincon Jr., Jack McKnight III, Malia Rincon, Nativia McKnight; one great grandchild Skylon Houston and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
