Obituary for Gregoria Catano
A Rosary and Funeral Mass for Gregoria Catano, 95, of Athens will be held at a later date under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Ms. Catano passed away peacefully at her home on March 27, 2020 in Athens.
Gregoria Catano was born January 4, 1925 in Hacienda de Vivoras, Zacatecas, Mexico the daughter of Jose Catano and Juana Chavez. She was a member of the St. Edwards Catholic Church. “Golla” was a true homemaker in every sense of the word who loved spending her time taking care of family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all she knew and loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Remigio Barrios and numerous brothers and sisters.
“Gollita” is survived by her nine children, Jose Barrios and wife Loisa of Zacatecas, Mexico, Margarita Barrios and husband Guadalupe Ruiz of Guadalajara, Mexico, Pascuala Duran and husband Jesus of Athens, Belin Barrios and husband Sergio Banuelos of Athens, Victoria Barrios of Athens, Leonor Antonio and husband Obidio of Athens, Antonio Barrios and wife Julie of Athens, Teresa Barrios of Athens, Manuela Ramirez and husband Conrado of Athens; sister Maria de Jesus Catano of Athens; brother Manuel Catano of California; half-sister San Juana Catano of Guadalajara, Mexico; thirty-seven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; great great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and cousins.
