Graveside services for Freddie Castleberry, 72, of Athens, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Oak Grove Cemetery near Kerens, Texas and will be officiated by Bro. Gene Bishop. Services will be under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Freddie passed away March 23, 2021 in Athens.
Freddie Claude Castleberry was born June 16, 1948 in Colorado the son of Malvin P. Castleberry and Opal (Land) Castleberry. He retired after many years of service working as a guard at the Tennessee Colony Prison Complex. He was an avid outdoorsman who love fishing, bow hunting, bird watching and sketching the many birds he had on his property. He enjoyed reading westerns and watching John Wayne Western movies. Freddie loved his family, was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Sheila Jo Ann Peak, Sally A. Thomas; one brother Richard Castleberry and his beloved dog Stryker.
Survivors include his two daughters, Beckie Castleberry, Paula French; three grandchildren, Sheila Westmoreland and husband David, Chelsea Farrington and husband Matthew, Cheyane Hordern and two great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Gressett, Matthew Farrington, Monte Montgomery, David Westmoreland, Phil Haney and Gary Coppege.
A visitation will be held Monday, March 29, 2021 from 5-7:00 p.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
