Visitation services for Fredda Jean (Davis) Tinney, 84, of Athens, are scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2020 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home. A private family service will be held the following day with interment at Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Tinney passed away peacefully at home on April 26, 2020 in Athens.
Fredda Jean (Davis) Tinney was born October 3, 1935 in O’Donnell, Texas. Fredda was the daughter of Leon Davis and Gladys Beulah (Parrigin). She was a loyal employee of the City of Athens as the Director of Finance for many years until she transitioned her career to Gould Insurance Agency where she worked as the comptroller. ‘Grannie’ was an avid tennis player in her youth. She loved to fish and the color blue. Fredda was a loving wife to Bobby, her soulmate, whom she was married to for 65 years, and enjoyed nurturing her grandchildren and spending time with her great grandchildren as much as she could.
She is preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Grady Walker and granddaughter, Holly Wood.
Survivors include husband, Bobby Tinney; children, Terry Tinney, Traci Tinney Velvin and Tana Tinney Wood; grandchildren, Ashley Walker and husband Tim Raxter, Brana Rope and husband Adam Pope, Will Velvin, and Bryer Wood; and great grandchildren, Kaitlynn Raxter, Trenton Raxter, Abigail Raxter, Ashlynn Raxter, Curry Rope, and Porter Rope.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
