Obituary for Eva Sue Wilson (Whittington)
Funeral services for Eva Wilson, 74, of Athens, are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 3, 2020 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens with Bro. Mike Dean officiating. A private interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.
Mrs. Wilson passed away August 31, 2020 in Athens.
Eva Sue (Whittington) Wilson was born January 13, 1946 in Murchison, the daughter of Eva Irene (Porter) Whittington and James Allen Whittington. She was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Athens and apart of the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class. Eva spent a career as an LVN at the old Athens Hospital for many years and enjoyed watching television and reading her bible. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andrew Wilson; brothers, Marce Whittington, Horace Whittington and sister, Nell Baker.
Survivors include children, David Cole of Athens, Sheri Richardson of Athens; grandchildren, Heather Harned, Devin Cole, Nicholas Richardson, Damien Cole and great grandchildren, Frankie Cole, Charle Cole, Ronin Blaine and Bodie Blaine.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2020 from 5-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
