Obituary for Eric Dwayne Mills
A visitation for Eric Mills, 52, of Athens, is scheduled for Wednesday, November 24, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens with a private family graveside held at a later time.
Mr. Mills passed away November 22, 2021 in Tyler.
Eric Dwayne Mills was born February 7, 1969 Athens, the son of David Bryan Mills and Linda Sue (Till) Boyd. He was a vocational rehabilitation counselor for the State of Texas who took pride in helping people with disabilities gain employment, get continued education/training and working with the local high schools in helping their students advance to higher education or work. Bubba was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and loved all kinds of other sports as well. He was a loving brother and uncle who truly enjoyed spending time spoiling his nieces and nephew. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his siblings, Tina Pearson and husband Paul of Haslet, Kristi Stanfield and husband Shane of Athens; his father Butch Boyd and wife Lila of Athens; nephew Preston Pearson and nieces, Megan Bynum, Bailee Stanfield, Kenzi Stanfield and Maddy Stanfield.
Serving as pallbearers will be John Cotten, Michael Hunsacker, Mike Till, Darren Kirkwood, Shane Stanfield and Paul Pearson.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
