Graveside services for Sue Armstrong, 83, of Murchison are scheduled for 11:15 A.M., Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas with Pastor Jonathan Lilly officiating. Services will be under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Armstrong passed on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in Tyler, Texas.

Donna Sue Rice Armstrong was born March 11, 1935 in Colorado Springs, Colorado the daughter of Arthur M. Rice and Dorothy Hazel Greene Rice. She was a member of the Assemblies of God and married Robert Armstrong on August 11, 1967. She was a military wife who faithfully moved all over the country with her husband who was serving in the United States Air Force. She worked as a Transportation Coordinator at Holloman AFB in Alamogordo, New Mexico, an Intelligence Computer Operator at Kirkland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico, a Librarian at Wheelus AFB in Tripoli, Libya and retired as an administrative assistant with the Washington Educational Service District. She was an avid reader and enjoyed arts and crafts such as quilting, sewing and painting. Grandma was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who will be missed by all she loved.

She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Arthur Rice Jr and one sister Sherry Bickel.

Sue is survived by her loving husband Bob Armstrong of Callender Lake; four children, Pamela Sue Petersen and husband Sam of Callender Lake, Marc Alan Armstrong and wife Vanessa of South Prairie, Washington, Cynthia Ann Gottsman and husband Harley of Callender Lake, Tori Lynn McKnight and husband Timothy of Gilbert, Arizona; three siblings, Ann Swanson and husband Dennis of Lacey, Washington, Sharon Rice of Centralia, Washington, Greg Rice and wife Sherry of Centralia, Washington; thirteen grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family would like donation made in her memory to a Charity of your choice.
