Obituary for Dennis Eugene Keel

A Celebration of the Life of Dennis Keel, 70, of Palestine, will be held, 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens with Bro. Danny Bristow officiating.

Mr. Keel passed away November 21, 2021, at home in the company of his loved ones.

Dennis Eugene Keel was born January 11, 1951, in White Salmon, Washington the son of Eugene Benjamin Keel and Josephine Mary (Vermeire) Keel. He was a custom homebuilder in the Aero Estates Airport Addition and was a carpenter who was known to build pretty much anything anyone asked for. Dennis was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed his sawmill, fishing, camping, riding around in his boat and growing things in his garden. “Pop Pop” loved his family, especially his grandbabies and he will be missed by all he knew.


He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers, Wayne and Randy Keel.

Survivors include his wife, Sheryl Keel of Palestine; his mother Josephine Killaby of Everett, Washington; children, Darci Bradley of Everett, Washington, Dannelle Coates of Everett, Washington, Daniel Keel of Everett, Washington, Cassandra Canova and Jeff Bonelli of San Diego, California; siblings, Ray Keel and wife Vicki of Snohomish, Washington, Loni Martin and husband Gene of Sultan, Washington; grandchildren, Taylor Southard, Kailey Bradley, Christopher Oastman, Brianna Coates, Cole Keel, Evan Keel; three special little girls, Patsy, Bristol and Jolie “little Denny”; father and mother-in-law, John and Mary Ann Bowen; two brothers-in-law, Jeff Bowen and wife Brenda, J. Bowen; his longtime furry pal “Copper”, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
