Obituary for Scott Huddleston

A Celebration of Life for Scott Huddleston, 66, of Athens, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Frank Upchurch officiating.

Scott completed his earthly journey on January 29, 2020 in Tyler.

David Scott Huddleston was born July 30, 1953 in Dallas, the son of David Ray Huddleston and Deva (Cathcart) Huddleston. He founded General Casework Installers in 1982 and later partnered in Hanson-Huddleston in 2012 where they conducted lab and millwork installation in institutional settings. Scott was dedicated to his company and thoroughly enjoyed it. He loved his family and especially being “Scotty” to his grandbabies.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include wife of 38 years, Brenda Huddleston of Athens; children, Jessica Mendoza and spouse Paakal of Tyler, Natalie Foster and spouse Russell of Athens and Parker Huddleston and Dalton Martin of Athens; siblings, Keith Huddleston of Athens and Lori Smith and spouse Mike of Miami, Oklahoma; and his tiny fan club of five grandchildren, Zoe Mendoza, Xavi Mendoza, Maddox Foster, Jackson Foster and Oliver Mendoza.

Serving as honorary pallbearers, his right-hand team day in & day out, will be Wayne Hanson, Michael Penfold, Larry Logan, Buddy Hill, Doug Schroeder, Carl Cain, Thomas Flores, Joe Cisneros, Javier Arenas, Stephanie Rivera, and Aaron Macias; and life-long friend, Gary Parker.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 2-3:00 p.m. prior to the memorial service.
