Obituary for Charley Malcom

A private family service for Charley Malcom will take place at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2020, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. at Willow Springs Cemetery for all friends and family to attend.

Mr. Malcom passed away on May 18, 2020 in Malakoff.

Charley Malcom was born May 26, 1941 in Waco, Texas the son of James Nathan Malcom and Willie Mae Sparks Malcom. He was a former member of the West Athens Baptist Church and most recently a member of Crescent Heights Baptist Church. Charley was a truck driver for Athens Brick Company and ACME Brick for over 40 years. He enjoyed coffee time with his buddies at Pitt Grill and music, especially attending the Fiddlers Reunion. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and he cherished his family; he will be missed by all those that loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son Chuck Malcolm; grandson Ryan Robison and his siblings, Mae Rogers, Bill Malcom, Jay Malcom, Charlene Carroll and Johnny Malcom.

Charley is survived by his loving wife Marilyn Malcom of Athens; four children, Carl Malcom and wife Sheila of Lubbock, Cathy Robison and husband Johnny of Poynor, Chris Malcom and wife JoLynn of Crescent Heights, David Webb and wife Tina of Athens; three siblings, Deb Cairy of Athens, Pearl Cirkles of Bonham, Pete Malcom of Mesquite; eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

A visitation for Charley Malcom, 78, of Athens is scheduled from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rodney Robison, Randall Robison, Harley Malcom, Cole Malcom, Cameron Malcom and Michael Burgess.

Honorary pallbearer will be Abram Malcom.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
