Graveside services for Charles Cain, 81, of Athens, are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Rome Cemetery near Athens with Pastor Frank Upchurch officiating.
Mr. Cain went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 1, 2022, in Athens.
Charles Edward Cain was born March 4, 1941, in Tolosa, Texas the son of Charlie Henning Cain and Margie Lee (Payne) Cain. He was a member of the First Baptist Church Cross Roads and loved the Lord. He was a tool and die maker for Curtis Mathis and Harvey’s for over 35 years, and James Manufacturing for over 15 years before working for himself as a machinist. Charles loved farming cattle, pigs and bailing hay. He was a loving man who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Bonnie Melton.
Survivors include his companion Mary Beth Heisterberg of Brownsboro; two children, Donna Nuckolls and husband Cliff of Athens, Dewaine Cain and wife Rhonda of Athens; four siblings, Tommy Lee Cain and wife Kirby Thomas of Athens, Bill Cain and wife Frances of Athens, Mickey Cain and wife Brenda of Athens, Carl Cain and wife Heather of Athens; grandchildren, Melissa Robison and husband Lance, Amanda Leanne Hill and husband Jarrett, Kayley Nuckolls, Jordan Cain, Grayson Cain; great-grandchildren, Tyson Robison, Logan Robison, Dakota McAlister, Madison Weatherford, Payton Cranfield, Abigail Nuckolls and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held from 2:30-3:00 p.m. at the Cemetery prior to the Service.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
