A celebration of the life of Cecil Ross Loftin, 74, of Athens, Texas, was held on Friday, March 25, 2022, at Grace Bible Church of Athens with Pastor Marvin Keown officiating.

Cecil Ross Loftin was born March 21, 1947 in Red River County. He passed away while in the UT Hospital in Athens on March 20, 2022.

Cecil loved the Lord and made his decision of faith as a child. He was an active church member all his life and attended Grace Bible Church after moving to Athens. He passionately supported several missionaries and believed strongly in the discipleship ministry of The Navigators and The Voice of the Martyrs organizations.

Cecil is survived by his wife, eldest son and grandsons of Bogata, Texas, his daughter & family of Georgia, his middle son and family of Georgia and his youngest son and family of Tennessee, along with numerous other grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews, etc. He was also survived by his aunt of Paris, Texas. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, his eldest grandson, daughter-in-law, aunt, uncles and grandparents.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
