Obituary for Barbara Lee Miller
Memorial services for Barbara Lee Miller, 76, of Cross Roads, are scheduled for Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Cross Roads Baptist Church with Bro. Frank Upchurch officiating. A private family burial service will be held at a later date.
Barbara passed away March 7, 2019 in Cross Roads. She was born on February 8, 1943 in Vallejo, California to the late L.C. and Lora Sharp. She married Olen David Miller July 11, 1958 and enjoyed 60 years of marriage together. She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church for many years. She retired from ETMC as a regional director after 15 years. She was previously employed at Athens Internal Medicine and for Dr. Paul Michaels at Medical Arts Clinic.
She was also very involved in community affairs, recently a board member for the Southside Volunteer Fire Department. Barbara enjoyed gardening, cooking and traveling abroad with friends, but, the love of her life was her grandkids and her “babies” as she called them.
She was preceded in death by parents; sister, Joy Boyd; brother, Charles Sharp; and Mother and Father-in-law, C.C. and Ruth Miller.
Survivors include husband, Olen David Miller of Cross Roads; sons, David Miller and wife Karon of Cross Roads, Tracy Miller and wife Laurie of Cross Roads; five grandchildren, Morgan Miller Beaubien and husband Cole Beaubien of Cross Roads, Garret Miller of Cross Roads, Ross Miller and Wife Bonnie of Cross Roads, Brook Miller Murff and husband Steven of Cross Roads, Bo Miller Mayo and husband Mitch of Athens; nine great grandchildren; Charlie Mayo, Evan Beaubien, Reagan Mayo, Kannon Murff, Houston Beaubien, Olen Miller, Josey Beaubien, Tanner Mayo and Kendall Murff.
Visitation will be held for family and friends Saturday, March 9, 2019 from 5-7 PM at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Funeral services were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
