Obituary for Ashley Nicole Koonce
Funeral services for Ashley Koonce, 27, of Athens are scheduled for 11:30 A.M., Friday, February 28, 2020 at Living for the Brand Cowboy Church of Athens with Pastor Mike Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in Athens Cemetery under direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.
Ashley was taken from us on February 22, 2020 in Athens.
Ashley Nicole Koonce was born July 9, 1992 in Athens, the daughter of Christopher Michael Koonce and Angela Darlene (Colbert) Koonce. She worked part time for the Athens Independent School District serving as a substitute teacher and also loved selling Paparazzi Accessories. Ashley enjoyed music, traveling, photography and playing bingo with her Mom. She was a ball of energy, lived and loved life to the fullest and could brighten any day with her contagious laugh. Ashley’s greatest joy came from being a Mom to her babies. She would do anything for her family and friends and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Paisley Michelle “P Pie” Hudson; maternal grandfather, James Samuel Colbert, Sr.; maternal great grandmother, Gladys Twomey and paternal great grandmother, Bernice “Nana” Tinsley and sister, Emily Ann Koonce.
Survivors include father, Chris Koonce and Cherie Scalf of Eustace; mother, Angela Koonce and Anthony Hill, Sr. of Athens; daughter, Kynlee Hudson of Athens; sons, Dameon Williams, Jr. of Athens and Kashton Koonce of Athens; siblings, Derek Koonce and Katherine of Kerens, Christian Koonce of Athens, Anthony Hill, Jr. of Athens, Hayden Koonce of Eustace and Holden Koonce of Eustace; paternal grandparents, Jerry and Connie Dunn and Don Koonce; maternal grandparents, Rita and Kerry Stepp and Linda Hill; aunts, Kenzie Dunn of Eustace, BJ Koonce of Dallas, Jerrad Dunn of Eustace, Rhonda and Andy Thomas of Athens, Tony Hill of Athens, Julesa Hill of Athens, Jimmy Colbert of Athens and Sammy Colbert of Athens; nephews , Jackson Koonce, Jury Koonce, Johnny Koonce and Sailor Hill; nieces, June Koonce, Jade Koonce and Jamaryona Peters; cousins, Chris and Gabby Hoffman, Heaven Lee Colbert; sister for life Briana Walker and numerous other family members and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cameron Houston, Oakley Walker, Justin Womble, Jerrad Dunn, Byran Grimes, Chris Vargas, Xavier Harris and Jose Verastegui.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Hayden Koonce and Holden Koonce.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Danielle Baker of Paparazzi Accessories and to the entire community for their love and support.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2020 from 10:30-11:30 A.M. prior to the service at Living for the Brand Cowboy Church.
