Obituary for Ardine Walden
Matilda Ardine Walden, 79, of Athens, passed away February 26, 2020 in Athens. She was born January 26, 1941 in Hayward, California, the daughter of Alvin Curtis and Lorene Wilson. Ardine was known as ‘The Wal-Mart Lady’ after having worked at the Athens location for 20 years. Before that, she spent 20 years working for K-Mart. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Earl Curtis and husband, Wes Walden.
Survivors include children, Curtis Walden and wife Tawna of Malakoff, Renee Werner and husband Charlie of Athens and Kevin Walden and wife Heather of Athens; sisters, Marzelle Harris of Antioch, California, Ada Cuyler of Mesa, Arizona, Janice Miller and husband J.E. of Mesa, Arizona and Joy McKinney of Tempe, Arizona; brothers, Sonny Curtis and wife Wanda of Westville, Oklahoma and Glenn Curtis and wife Karen of Mesa, Arizona; grandchildren, Jessica Douglas, Daniel Giles, Tiffany Walden, Julia Walden, Matt Werner, Emily Werner, Destiny Walden, Natalie Walden and five great grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home family.
