Memorial services for William Robert May, 69, of Athens, Texas will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. May passed from this life on January 9, 2017 in Athens.

Bill was born on February 7, 1947, the son of Willie and Johnie May. He was retired as a TXU Electrical Engineer. After moving from Waco in 1972, he spent time doing the things he loved such as hunting, fishing, playing dominoes, and being with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and will be missed by all he knew and loved.

He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Bill is survived by his wife of 34 years, Gloria Jean Kinson May; 5 children, Jerry Wood and wife Cindy of Kemp, Chris May and wife Marisa of Hockley, Kristi Patterson and husband Donny of Port Lavaca, Nikki Rios and husband Randy of Athens, Tammye Flowers and Tracy Simmons of Athens; 15 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and numerous other family and friends.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home of Athens.
