Obituary for William Neil Nivert

Athens – A Funeral Mass for William Neil Nivert, 69, of Athens are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the St. Edwards Catholic Church Athens, Texas with Father Nolan Lowery officiating. A private family interment will follow at a later date under the direction of Hannigan Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Nivert passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 in Athens, Texas.

William Neil Nivert was born June 11, 1946 in Fayette, Missouri the son of William Bernard Nivert and Christine Jane Strattman Nivert. He was a member of the St. Edwards Catholic Church in Athens and a generous benefactor to the Catholic Diocese. He was the Plant Manager at Dallas Manufacturing for over 21 years and dedicated his life to the plant and its employees. Neil was very involved in his community as well serving on numerous Boards including the Athens Chamber of Commerce. His favorite hobby outside of work was collecting antiques. Neil was a loving husband, father, Paw Paw, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all those he knew.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Donna Nivert of Athens; two daughters, Jennifer Ann Holly and husband David of Wills Point, Christine Marie Newbill and husband Brandon of Murchison; one son William Brian Nivert of Booneville, Missouri; one brother Nicholas Nivert and wife Marilyn of Glasgow, Missouri; one sister Natalie Monnig of Glasgow, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kimber Marie Holly, Colby Paul Hampton, William Scott Newbill, Bryanna Nivert and Shannon Nivert.

Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 P.M., Friday, November 6, 2015 at Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens, Texas. Rosary will follow at 7:00 P.M.
